Nomination Process


  • Eligibility: Nominees must be graduates of the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences traditional or completion program from the University of Southern Indiana.
  • Nomination Sources: Nominations can be submitted by USI faculty, USI Radiologic and Imaging Sciences alumni, current students, colleagues or the nominees themselves.
  • Nomination Deadline: Nominations must be turned in by the second Friday of January.
  • Application and Supporting Materials Deadline: Applications and supporting materials must be turned in to imaging@usi.edu by the second Friday of February.
  • Nominee Information: Name, contact information, degree(s) earned, and graduation year(s).
  • Professional Background: Current job title, employer, and a brief overview of professional experience and achievements.
  • Contributions: Description of contributions to the field of radiography, such as their roles in radiography, their service, research, innovation, teaching/training/mentorship, and leadership.
  • Service and Impact: Explanation of the nominee’s impact on their community, the profession, and/or the university.
  • Supporting Materials: Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume, two letters of recommendation, and any additional documentation supporting the nomination.
    • The application must include a narrative no more than 2 pages, single spaced, 12-point font.
    • Other than the resume or CV, other supporting materials provided must not be more than 4 pages.
    • All nominees will be given the rubric used for the evaluation process to use as an outline of materials to turn into the committee.
    • Applications and supporting materials must be turned in to imaging@usi.edu by the second Friday of February.

Selection Committee: A minimum of three members from USI program faculty or other healthcare related program. If the USI program director or faculty or nominated, then a replacement committee member will be selected by the remaining members of the committee.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Professional Accomplishments: Recognition of achievements in the field, such as their roles in radiography, their service, research, innovation, teaching/training/mentorship, and leadership.
  • Contributions to the Field: Innovations, advancements, or service in radiologic and imaging sciences.
  • Community Engagement: Impact on the community or the profession, such as volunteering, mentoring, service, and advocacy.

Selection:

  • Committee reviews all nomination applications and supporting materials.
  • The selection will be made by the first Friday in March.
  • The award recipient cannot apply or be nominated again for the next five years.

Announcement: The selected outstanding alumni will be notified of the presentation of the award. All other nominees will receive a thank you from the committee.

  • The outstanding alumni award will be announced at the Spring Program Advisory Committee Meeting.
  • The outstanding alumni recipient will be posted on the program’s newsletter, the “Focal Spot.”
  • The outstanding alumni will be included on the USI Radiologic and Imaging Sciences website on the News and Awards page.
  • The outstanding alumni will receive a certificate.
  • A plaque with names of the outstanding alumni recipients will be displayed in the USI Radiologic and Imaging Sciences center.
  • Plaques will be purchased at Tri-State Trophies, 1200 W Columbia St, Evansville, IN 47710 Plaques and Engraving
