Jennifer Fehrenbacher, Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene and Coordinator of the USI Dental Hygiene Clinic, received the Mentor of the Year award by Volunteer USI in August. Fehrenbacher prepares students to treat patients in the clinic and guides them through the process throughout their time in the Dental Hygiene Program. She fosters clinical and leadership skills in her students, inspiring them to be culturally aware and civically engaged, and is devoted to helping her students learn valuable critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Fehrenbacher’s nominators write, “She is a great teacher and is always there for her students no matter what. She is an advocate for us. You can tell she really and truly cares about her students. She goes above and beyond to make sure her dental hygiene students receive the best education possible.”
