Due to inclement weather, the University of Southern Indiana campus will be closed, and all in-person classes, activities and on-campus events are canceled beginning at noon Saturday, January 24 and continuing through Sunday, January 25. Online classes will continue asynchronously unless students are notified by their professor. Essential personnel only should report to work. If you are unsure of your status, contact your supervisor. More information and updates at USI.edu/emergency.
Students must be successful within three attempts for all skill demonstrations/verifications to meet the required final lab expectations and to pass the lab. If a student fails the first attempt, the student will receive instructor feedback and a Skills Mastery Support Plan. The plan contains instructions for remediation and a timeline for a second and, if needed, a third attempt.
The remediation requirements outlined in the Skills Mastery Support Plan must be completed before each attempt. Each attempt must be completed on a different day from the last attempt to allow time for meaningful practice and competency development.
If a third attempt is required, two instructors must be present to witness the attempt. If a student is not successful with any skill demonstration/verification by the third attempt, the student will not pass lab and will not pass the course. After issuance, a copy of each Skill Mastery Plan will be placed in the student’s file.
