Where have you worked as a nurse? My nursing career began in direct patient care, with experience in oncology, ambulatory care and clinical operations before transitioning into nursing informatics and healthcare technology. In my current role with Elsevier, I lead the evaluation of generative AI solutions for nursing and healthcare. I am a board-certified informatics nurse (NI-BC) and serve as Co-Chair of one of the committees for the American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA).
Describe your experience with USI's DNP Program? One of the things I have enjoyed most about the USI DNP program is the opportunity to complete projects that I could immediately apply in my professional role. The experience reinforced my belief that nurses should have a voice wherever healthcare decisions are being made so that the needs of patients and frontline clinicians remain represented. As a first-generation doctoral student, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue growing as a leader while helping advance the nursing profession in emerging areas of healthcare.
Is there anyone you want to thank? I am especially grateful to Dr. Jennifer Evans and Dr. Ann White for their mentorship and guidance throughout the program, as well as the opportunity to learn alongside a supportive group of nurses whose diverse experiences and perspectives were invaluable to the learning experience.
