Advanced Practice Registered Nursing Virtual Symposium

This annual symposium is designed to provide current, practical information that will strengthen assessment skills and expand knowledge of patient management strategies.

Learning Outcomes

Attendees will be able to implement current effective diagnostic and treatment strategies for a variety of client health issues.

Target Audience

Advanced practice registered nurses, nurses, and other health care providers in ambulatory and acute care settings.

Presenters


Matrika Brown, RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC

With over 20 years in healthcare, Matrika has spent the last 11 years practicing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in outpatient and community mental health settings. A military veteran and former medic, she is the coordinator of USI's PMHNP-MSN program.

Kelli Lovell, PharmD, CACP, CFCP, MMCP

Kelli is a clinical staff pharmacist at Deaconess Health System. Her specialty is anticoagulation care. She also works within a non-profit ministry, Holy Family Center for Life, to aid women in navigating their reproductive health naturally.

Angela Thompson, DNP, FNP-C, BC-ADM, CDCES, FAANP

Dr. Thompson has practiced 16 years in a hospital-based Endocrinology clinic with inpatient privileges located in Danville, Indiana. A national speaker, author, and diabetes CE faculty member, she currently serves as Secretary on the AANP Board of Directors.

CE hours will be available for Nurses, Physicians, Pharmacists, Social Workers, and Health Facility Administrators. CE hours will also be available for Indiana licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapists Assistants, Mental Health Counselors, and Dental Professionals.

Enrollment Cost

  • $135 for professionals
  • $65 for current graduate students
  • $25 for undergraduate students

After March 5:

  • $155 for professionals
  • $85 for current graduate students
  • $45 for undergraduate students

*Registrations accepted with credit card payment or employer invoicing. A one-time invoice fee of $25.00 will be added to the requesting organization's official invoice sent by the University of Southern Indiana.

Refund Policy

Refunds are available, less a $25 administrative fee, through March 5, 2026. No refunds will be provided after that date.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the University of Southern Indiana Center for Health Professions Lifelong Learning (CHPLL). The CHPLL is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
