Application & Placement Process

Step 1: Apply for the Internship

Submit the online application by the required deadline:

  • February 15 – Summer Internship

  • April 15 – Fall Internship

  • September 15 – Spring Internship

These deadlines allow time for interviews, processing, and affiliation agreement setup. Missing a deadline may delay graduation.

Step 2: Selecting Sites & Preceptor Interview

  • During HP475, you will receive a list of potential placement sites.

  • Meet with potential preceptors for interviews.

  • Ask informed questions about duties, projects, supervision, scheduling, and expectations.

  • After interviewing, schedule an appointment with the Career Success Center (812-464-1865) for placement coordination.

Step 3: Accepting a Placement

Once you accept an internship:

  • Notify the Internship Program Coordinator.

  • Submit the HP480 Work Agreement (and CPT form if applicable).

  • You are expected to honor the commitment.

  • Students should plan to be on-site at least two days per week.

Registering for HP480

After all forms and requirements are approved, the department will issue a Notice to Register with instructions and the CRN. Students then register online.
