Internship Eligibility & Requirements

To qualify for HP480, students must meet the following:

Academic Requirements

• Minimum overall GPA of 2.75

• Junior or Senior Standing

• Successful completion (grade C or better) in required prerequisite courses:

  • HP 475: Professionalism in Healthcare (must be completed before HP480)

  • GERO 215, HP 115, HP 211, PH 284

Professional Readiness Requirements

• Completion of the DISA Healthcare (formerly CastleBranch) profile (background check, medical and immunization records, drug screen, CPR, OSHA/HIPAA, Social Media Policy, etc.)

• Ability to complete 150 on-site hours under a qualified Preceptor

• Enrollment in HP480; Internship in Health Professions after all required forms have been reviewed and approved
